Daylighting and energy efficiency are key elements of every sustainable building strategy of the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in Qatar. The Convention Center aims to strengthen the role of Qatar as a business hub in the Middle East. One of the special features of the building is the huge glazing façade using insulated glass panes to create optimal thermal comfort. The structure is being constructed according to the standards of the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED).
To maximize thermal comfort and insulate heat while allowing light to come in, the architect has specified mega shades within the building requirements to produce high levels of heat and glare control. Euro Systems ®️ was invited to develop a solar shading solution. Our scope of works consisted of the supply and installation of bespoke specialty shades. We wanted to provide an attractive, comfortable, and efficient space the client.
As part of our sustainability efforts, it was also important to lower reliance on electric lighting and energy consumption by providing the building with high-performance electric shades from our Solange®️ series. Our Solange specialty shades ensure space flexibility, occupants’ satisfaction, visual and thermal comfort.
